All-New Subaru BRZ Makes a Striking Entrance in Hong Kong

Hong Kong, February 25, 2022 – Subaru's exclusive distributor in Hong Kong, Yat Ming Automobile (Hong Kong) Limited, announces the highly anticipated arrival of the all-new second-generation BRZ in Hong Kong.

The all-new Subaru BRZ (Boxer, Rear-wheel drive, Zenith) inherits the design philosophy of the first-generation BRZ, providing superior driving control while delivering an exhilarating driving experience. This generation features more power, improved performance, sportier handling, and a strikingly aggressive exterior design, representing a significant evolution. For the first time, the 6-speed automatic transmission version includes the Subaru EyeSight driving assistance system, enhancing safety performance comprehensively.

Dynamic Design and Fiery Power

Subaru Forester

The all-new BRZ maintains the classic front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and is equipped with a smoother, more powerful horizontally opposed 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, delivering a maximum output of 234 PS at 7,000 rpm and peak torque of 250 Nm as early as 3,700 rpm.

This generation retains the two-door sports car design, with a slight weight increase of 10 kg over the previous model, allowing the new BRZ to significantly improve its power-to-weight ratio, resulting in a more exhilarating acceleration experience. The 6-speed manual version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, while the automatic version achieves this in 6.9 seconds. Additionally, the new BRZ features significantly enhanced handling performance, including a much shorter braking distance from 100 km/h to a complete stop, sharper handling during cornering, and improved traction when exiting turns.

The all-new BRZ showcases a completely refreshed exterior design, immediately noticeable for its low profile, sleek lines, and robust appearance. The rear ducktail spoiler enhances the overall muscular look. The bold design harmonizes with its outstanding handling, leaving a lasting impression.

The body proportions are more aggressive and functional, thanks to a longer and lower body (+25 cm and -10 cm, respectively), a slightly longer wheelbase (+5 cm), wider rear track (+10 cm), and larger wheels (upgraded from 17 inches to 18 inches).

The front bumper air intakes, aerodynamic wheel arch designs, side skirts, new-style tail light fins, ducktail spoiler design, and overall low drag coefficient streamline design significantly improve aerodynamic efficiency, ensuring optimal driving stability. Not to be overlooked are the dual exhaust outlets, deep gray matte finish 18-inch alloy wheels, and the iconic hexagonal grille that capture the attention of Subaru enthusiasts and sports car fans alike.

The all-new BRZ aims to provide driving enthusiasts with a dream space. The interior layout remains focused and direct like the previous BRZ but is equipped with more advanced, functional features tailored for today’s drivers.

The 2+2 seating layout features front seats wrapped in leather and Ultrasuede® material, offering excellent adjustability and support. Red double stitching adorns the seats, gear shift, handbrake, and door trims, creating a cohesive sporty atmosphere; the steering wheel and gear knob are made of driver-favorite leather. The overall driver seating position and layout are designed for a low center of gravity, ensuring the best and most intuitive driving experience.

A 7-inch color LCD display serves as the electronic speedometer, presenting essential information and various driving mode data in a new way; drivers can personalize settings to display specific data such as lateral G-forces, power/torque figures, and fuel consumption. An 8-inch multimedia display provides Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, voice recognition, and other features. The audio system delivers superb sound quality through six speakers.

Enhanced Safety with EyeSight Driver Assist Technology

Subaru Forester

The all-new BRZ not only emphasizes sportiness but also prioritizes safety. The reinforced body incorporates high-strength steel and enhances passenger protection. Standard safety features include seven airbags, a ring-shaped frame, a sport-tuned vehicle stability control system, and LED headlights.

In addition to the reverse automatic braking assistance system included in the 6-speed automatic version, the all-new BRZ introduces the EyeSight 3.0 driving assistance system for the first time, offering six active safety features similar to those found in the XV and Forester, catering to various driver safety needs, including pre-collision braking, collision energy management, lane departure warning, lane sway warning, start-up alerts, and adaptive cruise control.
