Motor Image Launches All-New Subaru Forester in Vietnam and Unveils New Facilities in Ho Chi Minh City

The award-winning Forester boasts all four of Subaru’s core technologies

Vietnam, 16 July 2019 - Motor Image opened its brand-new showroom, workshop and warehouse in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City today in conjunction with the launch of the all-new Subaru Forester in Vietnam. The award-winning fifth-generation Forester, renowned for its safety features and driving dynamics, is built on the Subaru Global Platform.

The new showroom in District 7 integrates technological and lifestyle elements to elevate the customer experience. Innovative new features have been added to allow customers to familiarize themselves with their favourite Subaru cars. The new showroom features Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies. AR lets customers select various colour and trim options, while the VR headsets offer customers a 360-degree view around and inside the vehicle. This will allow customers to experience the vehicles up close, even if the cars are not displayed at the showroom.

There is also a new workshop and warehouse occupying nearly 4,500m2, located less than 1km away from the showroom. Aftersales services include maintenance, paint and parts sales. The warehouse will enable a wider range and quantity of genuine Subaru parts to be stored for supply to all of Vietnam.

In addition, Motor Image announced that it plans to expand its network and open another five showrooms in Vietnam by the end of the year. There are currently seven Subaru showrooms across Vietnam, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Ha Tinh, Hai Phong, Da Nang and Can Tho.

The All-New Subaru Forester Comes to Vietnam

The Subaru Foresters sold in Vietnam are assembled in Thailand by Tan Chong Subaru Automotive (Thailand) Limited (TCSAT). Production standards and processes in Thailand meet the same stringent levels as in Japan. High-performance robotics are used to ensure superior quality. In addition, quality control checks take place during and throughout the assembly process to ensure that every car produced at TCSAT is safe, comfortable and reliable.

Underpinned by the four hallmark Subaru Core Technologies, the Subaru Forester boasts numerous improvements over its predecessor, which contribute towards optimised handling, maximum comfort and enhanced safety. The four Subaru Core Technologies are: Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, horizontally-opposed Boxer engine, Subaru Global Platform and advanced EyeSight driver-assist technology.

Built to last, the body of the all-new Subaru Forester is made extensively of high-strength steel that promises durability and rigidity, befitting the rugged abilities of an all-purpose SUV. The raised body, new claddings, protruding underguards, headlights and taillights with beautiful and subtle details enhance the robustness and sophistication of earlier models. Design tweaks and the move to the Subaru Global Platform also mean that the all-new Forester has a 30mm longer wheelbase and 33mm more rear legroom compared with the previous model.

As part of the launch celebrations, Motor Image is offering comprehensive warranty coverage for new Subaru cars for up to five years or 100,000km (whichever is earlier) from July 2019. This warranty is applicable for the all-new Subaru Forester and other models distributed by Motor Image and its authorised dealers in Vietnam. The all-new Subaru Forester has also received the Advanced Safety Vehicle Triple Plus (ASV+++) rating, the highest rating in the 2018-2019 JNCAP preventive safety performance.
